DK Face Your Fears II
They Perished
When creating my poster I will make sure I cnlude the absic conventions of horror posters whilst also maintainging the minimalistic effect I have seen in the horror posters I analysed. The conventions I will be sure to include are:
Film Title
Credit Block
Main Image
Release Date
Slogan
Process
To begin with, I created the credit block for the film using a font typically used for credit blocks to follow conventions of horror posters. I then added the title of our film 'Pernicious' in a large red font so that it stood out the viewer because it is the largest text they can see. After that I applied a 'coming soon' at the bottom of the poster to continue to follow horror poster conventions.
I then decided to input the main image for my poster in, which is an image of one of the locations we are using for our trailer. Using colour effects I changed the colour of the image to black and white to add to the suspense of the poster as typically audiences will look to the darkness to find sinister figures where there may not be one.
As I didn't want my image to take up too much of the poster for a minimalist effect I only increased the size slightly and then smudged in dark colours around the image to create a dark mysterious effect for the poster
Finally I added the slogan for our film above the film title 'It's not just a feeling' so that it followed film conventions.
